Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers. If yours is not here, the guides go deeper, and the contact page is always open.

Accounts and linking

Do I need an account?

Not for the public tracker, the game pages, the Clash Royale hub or the leaderboard. You need an account to build your own card, because the site has to remember which platforms belong to you.

Which platforms can I link?

Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Riot Games (League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics), Supercell (Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans), PUBG and Fortnite. Battle.net games such as World of Warcraft and Diablo III are being prepared.

Do you need my password?

No, never. Platforms are linked by public identifiers only: a Steam ID or profile URL, a gamertag, an online ID, a Riot ID or a player tag. The site cannot log in to your accounts and cannot change anything on them.

Can I link more than one account of the same platform?

Not yet. One account per platform. Multiple Supercell games count as one platform with one tag each.

How do I unlink a platform?

On your profile page, next to the platform. Unlinking removes the games and stats that came from it.

Missing or wrong numbers

My Steam games show no hours.

Steam only shares playtime when your profile's Game details are set to Public. The Steam privacy guide shows exactly which setting it is. After changing it, sync again.

Why are there no hours on my Xbox games?

Because Xbox does not publish playtime through its public API. The site shows what it can read (games, achievements, gamerscore) and leaves hours empty rather than guessing. More in the Xbox guide.

Why is my PlayStation profile not found?

Usually because trophy and game visibility on the PlayStation side is set to friends only. Set them to Anyone and try again. See the PlayStation guide.

Some Steam games are missing from my library.

Steam's own list of owned games does not include tools, some free-to-play titles you have not launched, and games you have hidden. Family shared games are not owned by you, so they do not appear either.

Why is Soundpad or Wallpaper Engine in my top games?

Steam counts them like any other app. EveryGameStat filters known software out of your top games and your card totals, but the list is maintained by hand. If one slips through, report it and it gets added.

My rank changed an hour ago and the site still shows the old one.

Linked accounts are refreshed in the background a few times per day, and you can trigger a sync yourself on your profile page. The public tracker always reads live.

A stat looks impossible.

It came from the platform's API exactly like that. Some games ship broken counters, for example Rocket League on Steam exposes only unnamed counters. When a number is known to be unreliable it is hidden or labelled. If you spot one that is not, report it.

Privacy and sharing

Is my card public?

Only if you switch it on. A public card gets an address like everygamestat.com/p/yourname and is included in the leaderboard. A private card is visible to you only.

What does a public card show?

Exactly what you see on it: name, avatar, platforms, totals, top games, and if you enable it, what you are playing now. Never your email address.

Can I delete everything?

Yes, on your profile page. Deletion removes the account, links and all synced data. It is not a soft delete.

Does the site sell data?

No. The privacy policy is short and written in plain language.

Leaderboard, duels, recap

How do I get on the leaderboard?

Make your card public. There is no sign-up and no submission; the leaderboard is generated from public cards. It ranks on total hours, number of games, achievements earned, achievement percentage and number of platforms.

Can people cheat the leaderboard?

Only by cheating the platform itself, for example by idling a game on Steam. EveryGameStat does not add numbers of its own, so there is nothing to edit on our side.

How do duels work?

You create a duel with your Clash Royale or Brawl Stars tag, send the code to a friend, and both of you play. The site reads both official battle logs and keeps score. Head to head counts matches you play against each other; race mode counts wins against random opponents. Full explanation in the duels guide.

What is the weekly recap?

A page with what changed in the last seven days: hours, achievements, games played, per-game stats, Companion sessions and duels. It is calculated from daily snapshots, so it only covers time after you linked your accounts.

Companion app

What does the Companion do that the site cannot?

It runs on your Windows PC and watches games directly. That gives match results and session lengths for Rocket League, per-server hours and deaths for Minecraft Java, and session times for any detected game. Web APIs do not expose any of that. See the Companion guide.

Is it safe?

It is open source on GitHub, only reads log files and process names, and sends session summaries to your own EveryGameStat account. It does not read chat, screenshots or files outside the game logs it needs. It is in alpha, so expect rough edges.

Mac or Linux?

Windows only for now.

The project

Is it free?

Yes. There is no paid tier yet. The plan is regular advertising plus an optional Patreon for extras later.

Who makes it?

One developer in the Netherlands. More on the about page.

Can you add my game?

If the publisher has an official API with player statistics, probably. Ask in the Discord with a link to the API documentation.
